Caramel Walnut Tart Recipe
[Makes approximately 12 tartlets]
Ingredients
Tart Pastry:
- 300g plain flour
- 200g Trickett's Grove walnut flour, plus extra for dusting
- 250g butter, cut into small cubes
- 143g caster sugar
- 3 egg yolk greased the tins with supplied Trickett's Grove walnut oil
Caramel Walnut Flling:
- 500g caster sugar
- 250g butter, cut into small pieces
- 500ml whipping or double supplied Trickett's Grove walnut pieces
Method
After lining the tart tins with pastry they were filled with rice in paper cups and baked for 12-13 mins at 160°c then removed the paper and rice followed by 5 mins of baking at 160°C.
Then they were filled with walnuts and the caramel poured over to “glue” all the nuts together and fill the gaps and then refrigerated until served.
